A Letter to Our Patients

Dear Valued Patient,

The reopening of our dental practice on June 1st was met with appreciation from patients eager to return for their ongoing care. We have been proactively calling patients who are due for checkups, teeth cleaning, and periodontal and dental treatments.

Many of you have asked questions about the safety of leaving your homes and coming into our dental practice. I would like to assure you that if you wear a mask when you walk from your parking spot outside our building to our door, we will take care of the rest! We have made our office clinically sterile and maintain it that way all day long, so every patient has the benefit of knowing they are breathing clean air and in contact with sterile surfaces. We have gone above and beyond what most other dental practices are doing.

When you arrive, you will text us from your car. We will greet you at the door and take you through our new concierge processing that eliminates contact with other patients and streamlines interaction with our nonclinical team members. The patient flow has been rearranged in a one way direction, with one way in and one way out.

Dr. Comfortes and his team members, who work chairside, are wearing extra personal protection attire (PPE). We are using sterile water and equipment that not only removes airborne particles but sterilizes the air you breath.

The precautions we have taken meet and exceed the recommendations of the American Dental Association (ADA), U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). In addition, we have procured the necessary supplies of PPE required for everyone’s safety. The care you receive is the care we would want for ourselves and our own loved ones.

We will be asking you three standard screening questions. You will be required to wear a mask prior to entering the reception area and while we take you to the dental chair. We will record your temperature right as you come in and ask you to use provided hand sanitizer. Once you are in the dental chair, you will rinse your mouth with provided ozone water, our new standard protocol prior to treatment.

Again, your health is our top priority, Systemic wellness is directly affected by oral health. We know that many of you with a history of gum inflammation are in need of hygiene support. Please be assured that our goal is to assist all of you as quickly as possible. We are looking forward to seeing you back again!

Please accept our sincere best wishes for your physical, mental, and spiritual health.

From all of us at Total Health Dentistry of Encino,

~ Dr. Isaac Comfortes & Team (August 2020)
